Young motorcyclist falls off his motorbike while accelerating

A 20-year-old motorcyclist suffered a crash on the road between Sattel and Oberägeri on Wednesday evening. The accident occurred when the traffic lights changed from red to green.

The accident happened shortly before 8.30 pm on Wednesday evening, on the Hauptseestrasse in Morgarten. A 20-year-old man lost control of his motorbike while starting to move from a temporary traffic light installation by the roadworks area.

The rear wheel thereby skidded, and the rider fell off the bike and crashed into a construction site barrier. The motorbike came to a halt a few metres away from him.

"The person who caused the accident was seriously injured," wrote the Zug police wrote in a statement on Thursday. He was medically treated at the scene by the Zug rescue service and then transferred to hospital. The damage to the motorbike amounts to several thousand francs.

According to the police, the incident was attended by members of the Zug rescue service, a private towing company and the Zug police.
