Woman caught driving with lapdog fined

Last week the Zug police, in cooperation with the officers of the Swiss Border Guard, set up road checks in both Baar and Cham.

In all, some 60 vehicles and their occupants were checked last Thursday evening.

In one case, police came across a woman driving with her dog on her lap, which they said was distraction.

Seven other drivers were caught either with out-of-date foreign licences or continuing to drive with foreign number plates instead of Swiss ones.

Officers of the Swiss Border Guard came across one person importing a prohibited item as fifteen others were charged with failing to adhere with customs regulations.
