Canton Zug, 06.05.2020
Whole classes in face-to face education, gymnastics and swimming to take place
The schools will soon be reopening. By 5 May, all parents should have been informed by the schools regarding the protection concepts that will apply in public schools.
Lessons will be taught again from 11 May, as here in the Loreto schoolhouse in Zug.
The principles laid down by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH/BAG) will apply to the protection concepts of the Zug schools, according to which the presence of children in a school setting is not defined as close contact, the Zug Education Directorate informs. The canton has set the following parameters for the opening of schools from 11 May:
- Normal teaching shall take place in compliance with hygiene measures. Where not otherwise indicated in the school timetable is, these will be full-class lessons.
- Specific level education and elective subjects will be taught, but are to be separated as far as possible in the upper secondary schools.
- In principle, gymnastics and swimming will take place. The Office of Sport has issued a guide to schools on how to do this while respecting hygiene measures.
- Compulsory school transport will be provided. If the distance from the driver cannot be maintained, he/she will drive wearing a mask.
- Parents are responsible for the pupils reaching the school. This also applies to the necessary safeguards if public transport is voluntarily used for school travel.
- Public schools, private and special schools shall submit their protection concepts to the canton.
