Was dung thrown at animal rights activists?

The Swiss Original Brown Cattle Young Breeders' Association (SchweizeroriginalbraunviehJungzüchtervereinigung) organised the 17th Sorexpo last Friday and Saturday. This event has been taking place in the Stierenmarkt area in Zug for some years now, and is mainly concerned with the judging animals owned by young breeders. This year, animal rights activists carried out an approved vigil, and used placards to draw attention to their concerns.

It certainly appears that dung had been thrown at the demonstrators

Things seem to have got out of hand on Saturday morning, however: animal manure was apparently thrown at the animal rights activists, and the Zug police were called in. Frank Kleiner, media spokesman for the law enforcement agencies in Zug, confirmed the operation on Tuesday. "We carried out initial clarifications on site," said Kleiner. Two adults and two children were affected by the so-called ‘dung attack’. "These four people each filed a complaint against unknown persons," continued Kleiner. An investigation would now start.

“We take this case seriously, and have spoken to the victims, visitors and the organisers. So far, however, we have not yet found the person or persons responsible for this attack,” the police spokesman stated, adding: “We are taking the case seriously.”
