Two new providers of electric scooters and electric bikes

Following the withdrawal of the two existing suppliers, the city council has decided to grant the licence to the AirBie and Tier companies.

With immediate effect, 20 E-bikes from AirBie and, from 1 July, 100 E-scooters from Tier are available for rent, the city council (Stadtrat) informs.

As with the previous suppliers Smide and Circ, the vehicles are being offered in the so-called ‘free-floating’ system. Councillor Urs Raschle is quoted in this communication as follows: "The experience gained so far - and especially in connection with the orderly parking of the E-scooters after use – has been incorporated into the new, stricter permits."

This includes, among other things, that customers are informed of the correct use via an app, and are asked to use the public bicycle-parking facilities when parking the vehicles after use.
