Zug: A man was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing

A man was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in Zug on Wednesday afternoon The 56-year-old was injured and had to be taken to hospital.

The accident occurred on the Aegeristrasse in the city of Zug shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday afternoon (29 June 2022),. A 56-year-old man was crossing on the pedestrian crossing at the Sankt-Oswalds-Gasse when he was hit head-on by a car. His elbow thereby hit the windshield (see photo) . The pedestrian was slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital after receiving initial medical first aid from the Zug ambulance service.

A private towing company loaded and removed the vehicle involved.

Baar: Pedestrian hit by car and fatally injured

A car came off the road and hit a pedestrian on the pavement. The man died at the scene of the accident.

The accident occurred on the Dorfstrasse in Allenwinden (municipality of Baar) at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning (29 June 2022). A 29-year-old woman who was driving in the direction of Ägeri lost control of her vehicle immediately after the "Winzrüti" junction. The car came off the road to the left, mounted the pavement, crashed into the "bus shelter" of the "Egg" bus stop there and hit a pedestrian. The 61-year-old pedestrian was so seriously injured that he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The person who caused the accident suffered bruises and was taken to hospital for checks. Her breath alcohol test was negative.

The exact course of the accident is the subject of further investigations, and the forensic service and the traffic police of the Zug police carried out the securing of traces on site. The public prosecutor's office of the canton of Zug has ordered a blood and urine sample from the 29-year-old driver in the hospital, and the accident vehicle was secured.

Members of the Baar fire brigade provided the necessary traffic control. The medical officer and employees of the Zug rescue service, the public prosecutor's office of the canton of Zug, a private towing company, the road maintenance service and the Zug police were on duty at the scene.
