Two accidents within an hour on Sunday

A driver lost control of his car on the Ratenstrasse, causing it to flip onto its side and come to a halt on the oncoming lane. A second motorist also lost control of his vehicle in the municipality of Baar, and crashed against a retaining wall.

The first accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, 14 March, according to a press release from the Zug law enforcement agencies. A 24-year-old motorist was driving towards Ägeri on the Ratenstrasse when he lost control of his vehicle in a slight right turn on the snow-covered road, and came off the road to the right. As a result, the car flipped onto its left side, and slid about 20 metres onto the oncoming lane. The driver thereby suffered minor injuries.

The 24-year-old was given a rapid drug test on suspicion of drug use. As this was positive, the on-call public prosecutor ordered a blood and urine sample to be taken in the hospital. The driver's licence was taken from the driver, and he must answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug.

Another accident happened in Baar
A short time later, shortly before 4.45 p.m., another traffic accident occurred in the municipality of Baar. A 23-year-old motorist was driving on the Lorzendammweg in the direction of the Langgasse. He accelerated his vehicle so hard that he lost control of the car, which hurled uncontrollably over the oncoming lane and came to a halt against a retaining wall next to the pavement. The driver and his 19-year-old passenger were uninjured. The driver's license was taken from the driver on the spot.
