Trailer tips over on the motorway

At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday (17 August 2021), a car with a trailer drove on the A14 motorway in Baar in the direction of Lucerne. After changing from the acceleration lane to the normal lane, the driver noticed that his transport trailer had started to swing out of control. The 37-year-old man thereby drove onto the breakdown lane. In doing this, however, the tyres of the trailer hit the right-hand curb, and, as a consequence, the trailer tipped over into the adjacent meadow. The driver was uninjured, but the trailer and the game fence were slightly damaged.

After entering the motorway, the trailer of a car started to swerve from side to side and then tipped over.

The trailer had to be removed by a private towing company.

Specialists from the traffic police checked the vehicle combination, but found no violations. The trailer was not overloaded, and the load was secured correctly.
