Total loss after single-vehicle accident

Police reports on Tuesday, 7 December 2021

In wintry road conditions, a woman driver skidded off the road and crashed into a wall and a lamp post in Oberaegeri. No one was injured, but the car was a complete write-off.

On Tuesday morning (7 December 2021), shortly before 6:45 a.m., a 23-year-old woman driver was travelling along the Morgartenstrasse from Oberägeri in the direction of Sattel. In a slight left turn, the vehicle started to slide, crossed the oncoming lane and crashed into a wall and a lamp post on the left side. The car then slid back onto the right side of the road and came to a stop on the pavement.

The young driver was fortunately uninjured, but the car was a complete write-off. As some fluids had leaked from the accident vehicle, members of the Oberägeri Fire Brigade were also deployed to prevent environmental pollution.

Employees of a private towing company, the road maintenance service, WWZ AG and the Zug police were on duty in this incident.

Zug: There's someone sitting in my car!

A man entered a parked car in search of cash. Before he could get away, however, he was seen by the vehicle owner, and was detained and handed over to the police.

On Monday evening (6 December 2021), a 39-year-old man was amazed when he returned to his car parked on the Bundesplatz in the city of Zug after dinner with a colleague. A man who was unknown to him was sitting in the driver's seat of his car, and was in the process of searching the interior of the vehicle for cash.

Together with a colleague, the car owner managed to detain the 24-year-old "intruder" until the arrival of the police.

In the police interrogation, the young man admitted to having entered into the car to search for cash. He will now have to appear before the Zug Public Prosecutor's office. The 24-year-old was released from police custody after the interrogation.
