Three accidents involving eleven vehicles result in five injuries

A number of accidents occurred on the A14 motorway between Lucerne and Zug and in Ingenbohl on Tuesday morning, and led to major traffic jams.

There were two accidents in the morning traffic on the A14 motorway between Gisikon and Rotkreuz in the direction of Zug on Tuesday morning. According to the Zug police, six cars, a delivery van and a motorcycle were involved and two people were injured.

The first accident, which took place around 6.30 a.m. on Tuesday morning in heavy morning traffic, was a rear-end collision involving four cars and a motorbike. The 38-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured, according to the Zug police. After initial medical treatment, she was taken to hospital.

A few moments later and a few metres behind, there was a secondary accident, involving two cars and a van. A 39-year-old man was slightly injured and also taken to hospital.

The two accidents led to long traffic jams on the main roads between Inwil and Gisikon-Root and between Dierikon and Gisikon-Root, and motorists had to put up with a loss of time of over an hour. Both lanes in the direction of Zug had to be closed, and traffic was diverted past the accident site via the emergency lane. The damage to the eight vehicles amounts to several tens of thousands of Swiss francs.

Three people injured in an accident in Ingenbohl
There was also an accident near Ingenbohl in the morning traffic, when three vehicles collided at the motorway exit in the northerly direction,. According to initial information, three people had to be taken to hospital. In contrast to the accident on the A14, the impact on morning traffic here was minimal.
