These parking spaces can now also be used in winter

Up to now, boats have been over-wintering in the parking spaces to the east of the Zug harbour. These parking spaces will now be available for cars in the future.

The city council adapted the use of certain parking spaces at the Zug harbour. Of the 40 existing car parks at the East Harbour, on the side of the Podium 41, 16 were made available to the Zug Yacht Club for winter storage from November to March. The parking of cars on these spaces was not permitted during the winter.

"After the Zuger Messe (Zug trade fair), these parking lots were re-rented and used to over-winter boats until March," explains city councillor Urs Raschle. Local people have repeatedly asked why these parking spaces cannot be used for cars in the winter. The city council has now reacted to these enquiries: The 40 parking spaces at the East Harbour can now also be used by cars in the winter.

“We are responding to an enquiry from the local population," says the head of Social, Environment and Security department (SUS).

Up to now, boats have been over-wintering in these car park spaces on the side of Podium 41 at the Zug harbour.

In the meantime, the Zug Yacht Club has come to a mutually-agreeable solution for the boats, according to Urs Raschle: in the future, they will spend the winter a few metres further away, but still close to the harbour - on the gravel area in front of the Siehbachsaal.
