The Zuger Messe trade fair is ready

In less than a month, the largest autumn exhibition in Central Switzerland will take place in Zug from 22 to 30 October 2022.

The Zuger Messe trade fair will finally open its doors again on 22 October 202, and exhibition director Thomas Huwyler and his team are really looking forward to it: "In recent months, we have done everything in our power to organise the Zuger Messe trade fair in its well-known and valued diversity. The need for the Zug trade fair is very great. We can feel this not only in the anticipation of the visitors, but also in the great interest on the part of exhibitors," say Huwyler in a statement from Messe Zug AG.

With this high demand from exhibitors, six exclusive special shows and the expected number of visitors, the Zuger Messe trade fair remains the largest service and goods exhibition in Central Switzerland in the autumn, and will be held for the 49th time this year.

It is known far beyond the cantonal border as an event for information, encounters, entertainment and cosy get-togethers. Alongside a wide range of restaurants and a varied entertainment programme, the Zug trade fair promises eventful days for young and old.

Admission discount for arrivals and return journeys by public transport
The Zuger Messe is actively committed to making its implementation as sustainable as possible, and is encouraging visitors to travel there by public transport. Working together with the ZVB (Zug public transport) and SBB RailAway, the trade fair offers attractive combined offers.

When arriving and returning by public transport, visitors benefit from a 10% discount on admission to the Zuger Messe Trade Fair: thîs offer has been available online at sbb.ch/zugermesse from 1 September, as well as at the railway station counter or via the SBB Contact Centre.

For passengers from the Zug fare network, the reduced ZVB combined ticket is available at all ZVB ticket machines, as well as at the SBB machines and railway counters within the Zug fare network, and enables direct access to the trade fair.

Programme highlights during the nine days
The Zug trade fair has a lot to offer again this year: the fashion scene is represented in daily fashion shows with trends and stylings from different collections. There will also be musical performances, with performers such as Caroline Chevin, William White and Nico Brina, there is the the Horseshoe evening with the "Bünzklirachers" and various DJs will provide the best entertainment and cool sounds in the bars.

Tradition and contemplation will prevail during the yodelling mass (Jodlermesse) on the second Sunday of the fair, while the dance shows of Matchless and MDS & Entertainment – Mavement Dance School will appeal to both young and old.

At the close of the Zuger Messe 2022, the Police Music Zug will demonstrate their versatile repertoire on the large event hall stage. There will also two children's attractions this year, the petting zoo and the nostalgic steam locomotive train, which attract small and large trade fair visitors.

The numerous restaurants, cafés, bars as well as barbecue and food stands offer great hospitality and tempting moments, and invite you to linger and enjoy a cosy get-together.

A versatile Zug Messewelt (trade fair world) will be open from 22nd to 30th October, promises entertaining and exciting hours!

Six special shows provide insights into exciting topics
In addition to the numerous exhibitors this year, visitors can also look forward to six special shows. The Swiss Museum of Transport brings the topic of "Energy" closer, and, in an interactive world of experience, shows why this is important for our future.

Zug Farmers from the Zug Bauernverband (Farmers' Association) Kanton Zug show how they are committed to the welfare of their farm animals, what consumers can do about this,  and how high-quality local food can be ensured together.

Interesting facts about spinal cord injury are conveyed at the special show of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, and Chiara and Peter give a personal insight into their new life in a wheelchair.

The Zug Police invite you to take a seat in the patrol vehicle and learn first-hand what it means to be a police officer. The Zug Brass Band Association (Blasmusikverband) is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special show, and gives you the opportunity to learn more about their instruments, to discover brass music and enjoy daily live concerts.

Last but not least, the public can explore the effects of food waste high up in a treetop, with a view over the entire exhibition hall, at the special show organised by the Zeba (waste management services), Allmig (green waste recycling) and the Canton of Zug.
