The Restaurant Strandbad has a new tenant

Micha Federle is the new tenant of the restaurant at the Zug Strandbad (lakeside bathing area) on the Chamer Fussweg. He is also the operator/initiator of the Freiraum Zug. Because the expansion of the bathing area is imminent, the city of Zug has only granted the lease for a limited period of time.

The Strandbad Zug is bursting at the seams and is an important meeting place for young and old, as a survey in the summer of 2020 showed. For this reason, the city of Zug pressed forward with the planning of the expansion of the lakeside beach some time ago, in order to meet the growing needs of the population. The concept for the extension of the Zug Strandbad has not yet been decided, however, as the competition between projects and its implementation must first be carried out. For this reason, the Real Estate Department has decided to only issue a temporary contract for the lease of the Strandbad restaurant, which has been vacant since last year.

According to the press release, the city has found its man in Micha Federle, the operator and initiator of the Freiraum Zug. He will receive support from the "waveup" association in the area of low-threshold offers, as well as with events that will be held within the Strandbad. It is planned to implement some findings from the participation process on a point-by-point basis in the coming season, for example, an expanded food offer.

The next step in the "Extension of the Strandbad Zug" project is the call for tenders for the competition, which will take place in April 2021 and be judged in November 2021. The opening of the extension of the beach is planned for 2024, according to the announcement of the city of Zug. The city of Zug will be guided by the results of the participation process, which took place in the summer of 2020, and will take into account the wishes of the people of Zug. With a view to the re-opening of the extension of the Strandbad, a new tenant will be sought with a tender that is open to all.
