The foundation stone for the new Dreilinden cenre is about to be laid

The major construction site on the Buonaserstrasse in Risch is in full swing. The drilling and insertion of the 62 geothermal probes started at the end of January, and a special box to commemorate the start of construction will be buried when the foundation stone is laid.

On Wednesday, the Gemeinde Risch Immobilien AG, as the developer, the Risch/Meierskappel Retirement Home Foundation (Stiftung Alterszentrum) and the two shareholder municipalities, Risch residents municipality (Einwohnergemeinde) and the Risch citizens municipality (Bürgergemeinde), will celebrate the laying of the foundation stone for the new Dreilinden centre.

According to a press release, a box will be buried under the foundation slab to commemorate the start of construction. The box contains various documents that will bear witness to the history of the project. Among other things, these will include a copy of the building permit, the construction plans, the voting statements, the logos of the current and future Dreilinden Centre and some current daily newspapers.

After the construction site infrastructure was set up during the autumn school vacations last October, excavation work on the site for the new care centre and retirement apartments began on schedule at the beginning of November 2023.

The excavation pit and construction work can be observed around the clock at several openings in the construction site fencing. A webcam on the project website www.projekt-dreilinden.ch also provides an bird’s eye view of the building site and the construction progress.

400 piles are in the ground
Around 400 piles were required to secure the foundations of the new buildings. These piles were not installed using pile driving, as was previously the case, but using the drilling method. This caused less vibration and less noise. The piles were drilled, reinforced and concreted before the start of Carnival 2024.

The drilling and installation of the 62 geothermal probes began at the end of January, and this work will continue until March/April 2024, with completion of the work in the excavation pit scheduled for April 2024.

The shell construction work is also scheduled to begin in the first quarter of this year. According to the press release, the project is currently on schedule. According to the project plan, construction work is scheduled for completion at the end of 2025. The new care centre and the 60 retirement apartments should be handed over to residents at the beginning of 2026.
