Smouldering fire during construction work

The Zug fire brigade was in action the city centre of Zug. A blaze on the roof of a commercial building was quickly extinguished.

On Tuesday, December 10, just before 9.30 a.m., the Zug police headquarters received a report of a fire on the roof of a commercial building on the Gotthardstrasse in Zug. The fire brigade of the city of Zug (FFZ) was immediately alerted and was quickly on-site with the first emergency personnel. The blaze in the roof structure was then quickly extinguished, according to a report from the Zug police. No one was injured.

According to the investigation so far, the fire broke out during construction work. Part of the Gotthardstrasse and the Industriestrasse had to be closed during the firefighting operation. Twenty-five members of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Zug (FFZ), the fire brigade inspector, as well as employees of the Zug ambulance service and the Zug police were on duty.
