Slush on the road causes two accidents

The two single-vehicle accidents occurred at around 4.15 p.m., between Rotkreuz and Küssnacht, and in the opposite direction, according to a report from the Zug police. In separate incidents, two vehicles skidded on the snow slush in the lanes and crashed into the crash barriers.

A 31-year-old man lost control of his car while driving towards Küssnacht. The vehicle, which was fitted with summer tyres, crashed into the barrier on the right-hand side, and then slid into the central crash barrier, coming to a standstill on the overtaking lane. The overtaking lane had to be temporarily blocked, causing a disruption to traffic.

Shortly thereafter, on the opposite side of the road, in the direction of Rotkreuz, a 22-year-old man also lost control of his car. The vehicle spun around, crashed into the central crash barrier and then into a van. The man was then able to drive onto the breakdown lane. Both drivers had a bad fright, but remained unharmed. Property damage amounted to several tens of thousands of francs.
