See the most beautiful corners in the country in a shop window

The "smallest photo gallery in Switzerland" on Bahnhofstrasse in Zug takes the viewer on a tour through the fantastic landscapes of Switzerland - with pictures by the Hünenberg photographer Peter Frommenwiler.

Simply stand in front of the shop window and climb the Zervreilahorn, follow the Valais Suonen, hold your balance along the edge of the Creux du Van, gaze out over the Aletsch glacier to the Konkordiaplatz or over the majestic chain of the Alps rising up from the central plateau - the “smallest photo gallery in Switzerland “in the shop window at Bahnhofstrasse 26 in Zug makes it possible.

The Foto Forum Zug started its operations in the window in the Cantonal Tax Administration building last November. The window is almost 2.2 by 1.4 metres in size, and is intended to promote the perception of photography as an art movement in the city of Zug. The changing photo exhibitions here are interactive. This means that the works are not presented physically, but flicker on a high-resolution screen.

The Foto Forum Zug association is showing a photo series by Zug photographers in the shop window on the Bahnhofstrasse in Zug.

Following Gary Soskin's first window display campaign entitled “Föteli mache”, the second photo project has now been launched. "Transalpina - Two Schnauzers Wander Through Switzerland" takes the viewer on an extensive tour across our beautiful country. For a total of 20 weeks, photographer Peter Frommenwiler from Hünenberg and his grey schnauzer Chia travelled between Martinsbruck in the far east and Geneva in the far west of Switzerland, between Pedrinate at the southern end and Bargen in the far north - and all around the country.

They covered 2,350 kilometres on foot together, overcoming a total of 156,000 metres of altitude. Their tent was carried in a backpack, and the photo and film cameras were always at hand. Every day, they walked for six to ten hours on all possible paths across the country, and Frommenwiler captured thousands of impressions. Spontaneous encounters with people on the way led to inspiring conversations and portraits. Now everyone can pause for a moment on Bahnhofstrasse and take part in Peter Frommenwiler's Swiss tours. And though the pictures remain silent, each one still speaks for itself.
