Röhrliberg indoor pool accessible again

The Röhrliberg swimming pool bath was closed for six weeks due to an extraordinary renovation.

The Röhrliberg indoor swimming pool has been available again to the local population, clubs and schools from last Monday. The extraordinary renovation work on the compensation basin and the technical facilities was completed on schedule, as the municipality has now announced.

The indoor pool was closed for about six weeks due to construction work. The swimming pool, which opened 40 years ago, was "brought up to date" technically during this time. Little will change for visitors, however: "Better floor grates have been installed in the cloakrooms, and new partitions in the showers."

The major work took place underground. Due to corrosion damage, the so-called compensation basin had to be resealed and divided. In addition, larger hatches were milled into the concrete walls of the compensation basin and better control windows were installed, as well as a number of pipes being re-laid.
