Prisoner escapes during work assignment

A prisoner escaped in the canton of Zug on Thursday morning. The 41-year-old Algerian managed to escape during an external work assignment, as the Zug police confirmed to PilatusToday and Tele 1.

As Frank Kleiner, media spokesman for the Zug police, told  PilatusToday, there is no danger for the local population, because the escaped prisoner was not a violent criminal. The manhunt for the 41-year-old Algerian is still ongoing.

There was already an escape by an inmate of the Zug prison in March of this year, At that time, Qendrim Atashi was being accompanied back from a firewood delivery by a prison employee in a vehicle. He was later arrested in Zurich.
