An impromptu photo op on Lake Zug led to disaster
The car came to a stop between the lake shore and the golden Kiosk (on the right).

The driver is a 74-year-old man from Germany. He had previously been driving on the Alpenstrasse, but then drove along the foot and bike path near the Vorstadt and down the steps.

When interviewed by the police, the man responsible for the accident stated that he had spontaneously decided to take a photo of Lake Zug and had therefore driven in that direction. A breath alcohol sample that was carried out gave a negative result. The 74-year-old man was subsequently banned from driving in Switzerland.

It is not known whether he succeeded in taking his picture.
