People from Zug help restore eyesight

The Zug charity collection campaign "Give the gift of eyesight" (Schenken Sie Augenlicht), which is run by the CBM Christoffel Blindenmission, aims to raise awareness of the problems of people in poor areas of the world who are blind or live with a visual impairment.

Year after year, Zug businesses and the population have supported the campaign with great solidarity: opticians, pharmacies and many other shops from some Zug municipalities are setting up collection checkouts this autumn, and encourage their customers to show solidarity with people with eye problems.

The donations from the  people of Zug can make cataract operations possible and thereby restore sight to those affected. The campaign is now taking place for the sixth time this autumn.

According to the CBM, 1.7 million people received eye care services in the projects last year, with 125,000 cataract operations being carried out.
