Passerby hit by car and seriously injured.

A man was hit by a car while crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing in Zug. He had to be hospitalized with significant injuries.

On Thursday morning, shortly after 9:15 am, a 37-year-old pedestrian wanted to cross the Gubelstrasse at the Landis & Gyr / railway station bus stop in Zug. According to a statement from the Zug police, a 50-year-old car driver who was approaching the pedestrian crossing from the roundabout noticed the man too late. As a result, the 37-year-old was hit head-on by the car and thrown to the ground. He suffered significant injuries in the impact and had to be taken to the hospital by the Zug rescue services, before being transferred to a hospital in another canton for further clarifications. The vehicle suffered damage of around CHF 5,000. The driver will have to appear before the public prosecutor of the Canton of Zug.
Employees of the rescue service Zug, a private towing company and the Zug police were on duty.
