Opening of the outdoor ice rink at the Bossard Arena postponed

The ice rink by the Bossard Arena in Zug should have been opened on October 8. According to the responsible managers, it’s uncertain when and whether this will happen at all this season.

In view of the current energy situation, and taking a possible power shortage into account, the outer ice field will not be opened as planned on Saturday, 8 October, according to a statement from Daniel Wiederkehr, Operations Manager at the  Kunsteisbahn Zug AG.

The opening date will depend on the prevailing weather conditions and the situation on the electricity market, he continues. If the situation allows it at all, an announcement as to when public skating is possible will be made in the media and on the website of the Bossard Arena.

As an alternative until further notice, the Academy Arena (training hall) will be made available for general ice skating and hockey games (Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). This offer, which starts on 24 September, only applies to clubs, schools and other groups of ten or more people, however.
