One year of traffic obstructions on the Poststrasse

Due to the laying of new pipes for energy and waste- and rainwater, construction work is scheduled from the beginning of July.

From 5 July, extensive construction work will be carried out on the Poststrasse in Zug between the Gotthardstrasse and the railway bridge at the Dreiangelplatz. According to a statement from the city, the work will take about a year. During this time, the utility lines of WWZ AG will be replaced and the Circulago district heating network will be rebuilt. The separation of waste and rainwater for urban drainage is also being expanded by means of a new rainwater pipe.

During the construction work, traffic will be routed from the Gotthardstrasse to the Poststrasse railway bridge in a one-way system. The trees by the Neustadt-Center and some of the trees on the eastern side of the road will have to be felled at the end of June to allow the extensive construction work. So-called tree pits will be created at similar locations, in which trees will be planted again at a later date. "The tree pits will be designed in such a way that the growing conditions for the replacement and supplementary plantings will be improved, and the tree population on the Poststrasse will be able to develop more vigorously in the future," continues the statement.

Information boards will be used on site during the entire construction period to inform people about the progress of the project and the current work.
