Lorry drivers escape injury but much damage caused following collision

Two lorries were involved in a collision on the Küssnacht motorway exit road on Thursday morning. Fortunately, no-one was injured but considerable damage was caused to the vehicles concerned.

The incident happened shortly before 7.15 am as a 42-year-old lorry driver manoeuvred to overtake a recovery vehicle in front of it on the exit lane. As he did so, a 52-year-old lorry driver already on the normal lane was forced to brake abruptly, causing him to collide with the trailer of the lorry driven by the 42-year-old.

As mentioned, no-one was injured but tens of thousands of francs’ worth of damage was caused.

This part of the motorway is actually on the territory of the canton of Lucerne but its patrolled by the Zug Police.

In a previous accent on the A14 motorway near Rotkreuz also last Thursday, police praised drivers not involved for creating an emergency corridor to enable them to reach the scene.

This accident happened shortly before 8 am that day as two cars collided on the overtaking lane (photograph in daylight). Fortunately, no-one was injured in this accident, either. However, as was to be expected at this time in a morning, traffic heading north to Zug and Zurich was subject to much delay.
