Head-on collision in the morning traffic

A van and a car collided head-on on the Nordstrasse in Zug on Monday morning. The accident was the result of a medical problem.

The accident happened on Monday morning, shortly after 8.30 a.m., according to the Zug police. A van was driving on the Nordstrasse towards Baar. By the Siemens building, the van crossed onto the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an oncoming car. The 44-year-old man who was responsible for the accident, and the 47-year-old driver of the car were both injured, and were taken to hospital by the Zug Ambulance Service. Both the involved vehicles were no longer driveable, and had to be towed away.

Both vehicles could no longer be driven

The damage to property amounts to several tens of thousands of Swiss Francs. Traffic on the Nordstrasse had to be guided past the accident scene in single-lane traffic while the injured persons and the vehicles were dealt with. It appears that the cause of the accident was a medical problem. Employees of the Zug ambulance service, two towing companies, the road maintenance service and the Zug police were on duty.
