Full closure of the Lorzentobel Bridge for one night

The Lorzentobel BridgeNidfuren road section will be completely closed from 7 p.m. on 21 October until 6 a.m. on 22 October. Traffic will be diverted via Allenwinden.

It’s well known that the cantonal road No. 381 between Nidfuren and the Schmittli will be subject to renovation work for about one and a half years from January 2022. The necessary preparatory work is currently being carried out with the expansion of the Nidfuren and Schmittli nodes. The building department is also taking the opportunity to install a new top surface on the approximately 250-metre-long stretch of the cantonal road between Nidfuren and the Lorzentobel Bridge, according to a media release. This is also being done in relation to the traffic diversion phase of the Nidfuren–Schmittli project.

Single-lane traffic routing
Construction work will start next Monday, 11 October, and is expected to last until Friday, 29 October. During the construction work, traffic will be reduced to a single-lane and will be regulated by a traffic service. In the night from 21 to 22 October, however, the affected section of the route will be completely closed to traffic. The closure begins from 7 p.m. on 21 October and lasts until 6 a.m. on October 22. The regular buses of the Zugerland Public Transport (Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe) will still be able to use this section of the route, with some possible delays, during the full closure. Other traffic will be diverted via Allenwinden during the full closure. The diversion will be indicated accordingly.

As the installation of the top surface will depend on the weather, some delays cannot be ruled out. The cantonal civil engineering office (Tiefbauamt) will provide the relevant information on the exact construction dates at an early stage. Corresponding information can also be found on the website www.zg.ch/baustellen. The builders will take the necessary precautions to keep traffic obstructions to a minimum.
