First Covid-19 death in Zug

On Friday, March 27, 2020, a 73-year-old man died as a result of a coronavirus infection. He was suffering from previous illnesses, and had been under treatment at the Zug Cantonal Hospital since March 23.

The deceased was admitted to the Cantonal Hospital of Zug with breathing problems on March 23, according to the media release from the Cantonal Health Department on 27 March, and had tested positive for the disease Covid-19. The health of the man deteriorated rapidly in the following days. In accordance with the rules regarding protection of personality, the health department will not provide any further personal information.

Health Director Martin Pfister extends his condolences to the relatives.

To date, 101 people in the canton of Zug have tested positive for the new corona virus, and 18 people have fully recovered in the meantime.
