European Championship bronze for Jasmin Güntert and Co.

Speed skater Jasmin Güntert from Alosen has been able to celebrate a great success at the European Speed Skating Championships, which were held between 5 and 7 January 2024 at the Thialf in Heerenveen, Holland.

Together with her team mates Ramona Härdi and Kaitlyn McGregor, she won the bronze medal in the team pursuit on Sunday, 7th January.

In front of 12,000 spectators, the trio finished behind Germany (0.07 seconds behind) and ahead of Italy (0.01 seconds ahead) in the battle for the places behind the dominant Dutch team, and thereby set up a Swiss record of 3:02.40 minutes. The Netherlands team won the gold medal with a time of 2 minutes 55.70 seconds.

Jasmin Güntert and Co. haven’t had much time to celebrate their success, however. The team travelled from Holland to Salt Lake City (USA) on Monday morning, where another World Cup race is scheduled for the end of January.

Congratulations to the girls!
