Dispute between motorists ends in violence

There was an altercation between two motorists on Sunday evening, with one of them being slightly injured by a pocket knife. The alleged perpetrator was stopped and arrested a short time later.

The incident took place on Sunday evening, May 10, at 7.45 pm, in Walterswil (municipality of Baar). At the Coop filling station on the Sihlbruggstrasse, two motorists became annoyed following a driving manoeuvre, which led to a verbal dispute, according to a statement from the Zug Law Enforcement authorities. These disputes continued a short time later at the McDonald's on the Blegistrasse.

It was no longer just an oral dispute, however, but developed into a physical confrontation. One of the two men, a 66-year-old Swiss, slightly injured the chin of his opponent, a 45-year-old German, with a pocket knife.

Following this, the alleged perpetrator drove his car towards the motorway. He did not get far, however, as the emergency services of the Zug police managed to stop the vehicle on the A4a motorway, just before the Blegi curve. The driver was then temporarily arrested. The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug has opened a criminal investigation against the two brawlers.
