Cover layer installation on the Südstrasse postponed

One side of the Südstrasse in Baar was to have been closed from this Monday. The weather has caused a delay in the planned work.

It had been planned to install the cover layer of the Südstrasse in Baar from Monday, 15 June up to Thursday, 18 June. Due to the predicted bad weather, however, the project will be postponed by one week, to 22 - 25 June 2020, according to new information from the Zug Construction Directorate (Baudirektion). The installation will therefore take place from Monday, 22 June, 5 a.m., until Thursday, 25 June, 5 a.m.

A new cover layer is to be installed on the Südstrasse in Baar.

Diversions are signposted
In order to be able to carry out the installation of the cover layer, it will be necessary to re-organise the traffic flow regime on the Südstrasse that was already set up in March and April 2020. The lane from the motorway to the Zugerstrasse will be closed. Traffic in the direction of Zug will be diverted via the Nordstrasse and the Weststrasse. As a result of the  construction progress on the Zugerstrasse, the new partial closure means that no trucks will be able to turn from the Zugerstrasse to the Südstrasse. They will instead be diverted via the Landhausstrasse with the help of traffic service personnel. The diversions are signposted.
