Car braked in front of another on the motorway , and caused a crash

On the A4 motorway, an unknown motorist overtook a car and then braked hard. As a result, the driver of the correctly driving vehicle crashed into the guardrail. The police are now looking for witnesses.

The accident happened on the A4 motorway between Lindencham and the Rütihof junction at about 10.30 am on Sunday morning, as the Zug police reported in a statement on Monday. According to her own information, a 34-year-old female driver was travelling in the normal lane in the direction of Lucerne when she was overtaken by a car with a Zurich numberplate.

For no apparent reason, the unknown driver then braked violently and forced the correctly driving motorist to make a brusque braking manoeuvre. As a result, the driver lost control of her car and crashed into the central guardrail. The unidentified driver then continued to drive on, unperturbed. No one was injured, but the accident vehicle was a complete write-off.

The police are now looking for the involved vehicle with Zurich numberplates. Anyone who witnessed the accident and can provide further information about the vehicle is asked to contact the Zug Police Operations Control Centre on 041 728 41 41. In particular, the unknown driver is requested to report to the police.
