Call for recommendations for the Zug Sports Prize 2023

Every year, the Zug Sports Prize honours the best athletes in the canton. Rower Andri Struzina received the prize last year, and the next award will be presented as part of the Zug Sports Night on 2 February 2024.

In a recent press release, the canton asked the people of Zug to propose people who have achieved “great things in sport” in the current year and who would therefore be eligible for the prize. It called on private individuals and sports clubs to recommend individual athletes or teams to the Office for Sport and Health Promotion (Amt für Sport und Gesundheitsförderung) by 7th November 2023.

The cantonal Sports Commission will then select the final nominees from the suggestions received. The focus is on the successes achieved and the classification of the type of sport by Swiss Olympic.

During the Sports Night, the “Prix Panathlon Zug” will also be presented to personalities who have made outstanding contributions to sport in the canton of Zug. Suggestions for this award can be sent to Anne-Maire In-Albon, President of Panathlon Zug, on praesident@panathlonzug.ch.
