Attention! A4 motorway closed between Küssnacht and Rotkreuz

There has been a serious traffic accident on the A4 motorway between Küssnacht and Rotkreuz. It is not yet known whether anyone has been injured, but the motorway section is closed.

According to a reader, the accident happened right at the Küssnacht exit, as PilatusToday has reported on Saturday afternoon. The Zug police confirmed on Twitter that a serious accident has occurred on the A4 motorway between Küssnacht and Rotkreuz.

The motorway section is closed and a diversion has been set up. The surrounding area should be avoided as widely as possible, and a rescue lane (Rettungsgasse) should be formed by motorists in the case of a traffic jam, writes the Zug police.

Two Rega helicopters have been deployed
Traffic heading north is being diverted away from the motorway in Küssnacht. A long traffic queue quickly formed at the Küssnacht exit.

Several fire engines and ambulances and two Rega helicopters have deployed to the scene of the accident, as the ‘Bote der Urschweiz’ online news agency reports.

“A serious traffic accident has occurred on the A4 motorway between Küssnacht and Rotkreuz, and the rescue forces have been called out. The motorway section is closed, and diversions have been indicated. Please avoid the area as widely as possible,  and form a rescue lane in case of a traffic jam.”
