A modular building with space for 4510 Ukraine refugees

The three-storey, second-hand modular building is to be assembled either in Cham or Zug. The corresponding building application will be published at the end of the week.

It’s known that the canton of Zug has acquired a modular building in which 410 women, children and men who have fled the war in Ukraine can be accommodated. According to a media release from the Zug Building Directorate (Baudirektion), the three-storey, second-hand modular building has a total usable area of 6,000 square metres.

The modular building is a completely developed building, with rooms that include sanitary facilities, ancillary and recreation rooms, as well as kitchen, laundry and work rooms.

Two suitable plots of land have been evaluated for the installation of the temporary modular building. One is located in the Outer Lorzenallmend in Zug and the other in the Röhrliberg in the municipality of Cham. The construction profiles for the latter location will be installed in the Röhrliberg on Monday, and the building application will also be published on the following Friday.
