59-year-old e-bike cyclist falls from embankment

An e-bike cyclist fell from  an embankment on the Strandweg, and had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened shortly after 6.45 p.m. on Monday evening, April 27. A 59-year-old e-bike cyclist was riding along the Strandweg towards Morgarten. According to the information from the Zug law enforcement authorities, she crossed the Dorfbach via the small wooden bridge there and wanted to stop at the end of the bridge. In the process, she slipped, and fell down the embankment into Lake Ägeri. The 59-year-old was seriously injured in the fall, and had to be rescued with the fire brigade's mobile turntable ladder. After treatment from the ambulance service, the injured woman was taken to hospital.

Members of the Oberägeri local fire brigade and the Zug base fire brigade, as well as employees of the Zug ambulance service and the Zug police, were deployed.
