50-year-old arrested after bomb threat

An anonymous bomb threat by telephone led to a police operation in the city of Zug on Friday. The perpetrator was arrested in Germany a few hours later.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday, a company on the Terrassenweg in Zug received an anonymous bomb threat by telephone. Around a dozen people had to evacuate the residential and commercial building as a precaution, as the Zug police reported in a statement on Saturday. A search with specialist dogs found no suspicious items.

The building could then be used again. In the course of the investigation, a suspect, a 50-year-old German national, was arrested in Germany during the evening. This arrest came just hours after the telephone threat was made, thanks to intensive investigations and cooperation with the German police and the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug, the statement continued.
