48-year-old man detained after lashing out at passers-by in city

The Zug police have announced they detained a man after he lashed out at passers-by in the city on Tuesday.

It was shortly after 1pm that police received initial reports that a man had been attacking people at random. He was duly arrested a few minutes later in the Neustadtpassage.

It appeared he had previously kicked a man and a woman in the shin on Bahnhofstrasse. He then headed to the Neustadtpassage where he lashed out at a woman to such an extent that she fell over backwards.

It was further announced the attacker was duly taken to a psychiatric clinic for assessment.

The police have since issued an appeal to anyone else who may also have been attacked to call them on 041 728 41 41 without delay. This includes the man and woman who were kicked on Bahnhofstrasse as they subsequently left the scene with reporting the incident.
