27-year-old motorcyclist tries to evade a police check

A motorcyclist who was under the influence of drugs and without a driving licence, but with a female passenger, tried to evade a police check in Zug on Saturday afternoon. After a few kilometres, however, he ended his journey.

On Saturday afternoon (6 May 2023), the Zug police carried out a traffic control in a suburb of Zug, and wanted to stop a motorcyclist who was driving in the bus lane. The motorcyclist disregarded the stop sign of a police officer, however, and abruptly drove away.

A civilian police patrol with special signals then started to follow him, but the motorcyclist did not react. After a few kilometres, however, he finally stopped at the Talacher roundabout.

Investigations revealed that the 27-year-old motorcyclist did not have a valid driver's licence, and a quick drug test carried out on the spot reacted positively. The public prosecutor thereby ordered a blood and urine sample to be taken at the hospital. The motorbike was confiscated.

The two-wheeler driver, who was travelling with a female passenger, will now have to answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug.
