Opening of the Zug Trade Fair

The Zug Trade Fair will open today for the 47th time. According to Peter Binggeli, Managing Director of the Zug Trade Fair, setting up the stalls took a total of five weeks. Binggeli will officially open the fair together with the entire board at 10am on Saturday.

At 10.30am, the fair opens its doors to visitors. "The first day is always exciting, as the operations only slowly gain momentum and we never exactly know what's coming," says Binggeli. It always takes some time until the fair is in full swing.

Time to discover plenty

From 20 to 28 October, over 400 exhibitors will showcase their products and more than 80,000 visitors are expected. In addition to the exhibits for trade and industry, there are also various peripheral events that visitors can enjoy at this year's autumn exhibit. "I do not only wish for as many visitors as possible, but also that the visitors can discover as much as possible," says Binggeli. "I am convinced that the Zug Trade Fair has enough to offer for the duration of nine days."

Of course, the Ferris wheel is always a highlight, but there is much more to experience. "The special exhibits are recommended because these exhibitors will not always be present," says Binggeli. For example, the Zug police and the farmers’ association are guests this year. As every year, a guest canton is also present. This time it is the canton of Aargau whose exhibit is headlined "Discover Aargau!". And that is precisely the goal, to discover the neighbouring canton both figuratively and literally.

The weather forecast for Saturday is promising - sunshine and no rain. "Fortunately, the weather conditions are similar to those we had during setup," says Binggeli. The outcome of the preparations is excellent. "We definitely had harder times in past years, as the weather did not always play along and the construction workers were constantly battling with rain."
