"Metre-high flames"

There was a fire in the municipality of Neuheim on the early morning of Wednesday. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is still unclear.

At around 6 o'clock on Wednesday morning, a local resident noticed that a shed in the "Weid" in Neuheim was burning, and immediately alerted the authorities. When the Neuheim and Menzingen fire brigades arrived at the scene of the fire, they saw metre-high flames coming from the shed, according to the report of the Zug police.

They immediately began fighting the fire, and managed to prevent the flames from spreading to the stable next door as well as finally extinguishing the blaze.

No smoke poisoning
Members of the Zug Base Fire Brigade (FFZ), who had also been deployed, removed the roof of the shed for the extinguishing work, and checked for any ember nests.

The Zug Ambulance Service checked two people for possible smoke poisoning. According to the Zug police, however, no one was injured.

Searching for the cause
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and will be clarified by the forensic service of the Zug police. The damage to property also could not be quantified at the moment.
