Hands up: Scare in the morning

A man wearing a ghost face mask and carrying a croissant triggered a police operation on Friday evening. He thereby alarmed the staff at the post office.

As the Zug Police reported on their Twitter account over the weekend, there was an attempted ‘robbery’ at the Post Office branch in the Laubenhof building in Zug shortly before 11 o'clock on Friday morning.

According to the police, a 42-year-old man entered the Laubenhof post office in Zug wearing a ‘ghost’ face mask. He went to the post office counter and threatened the woman behind the counter with a croissant (Swiss-German: Gipfeli). He thereby held the pastry like a gun and shouted that she should give him the money.

Because the staff of the post office were alarmed by the incident, the police were alerted. The man was then stopped by the police in front of the post office.

More details will follow as they become available

As a reader of the Zug Police Twitter account commented: “An immediate appointment with the optician would be highly recommended for the post office employee”.
