EV Zug game against Davos has been postponed

The reigning Swiss champions EVZ will not play against HC Davos this Tuesday. Following the game against Munich, the Zug team has several corona cases.

The EV Zug hockey team played against Red Bull Munich in the Champions Hockey League last Wednesday. A total of 14 players and 4 members of the support team have now tested positive for Corona in the last few days, as the National League writes in a statement.

Although the whole team, including the staff at EV Zug, is 100% vaccinated, two team members tested positive with moderate symptoms on Monday. This prompted the EV Zug to carry out an antigen rapid test on all team members on Tuesday, whereby another player tested positive. As five other Zug players are showing mild symptoms, the EV Zug has now carried out PCR tests on the whole team today, although the results are not expected until tonight or later tomorrow.

Match against Davos postponed
The communication goes on to say:

"The league management, together with the two clubs EV Zug and HC Davos, has decided to postpone today's match between HC Davos and EV Zug due to considerations regarding the risk."

The reason for this: The uncertainty about the effective extent of the infections in the EV Zug and the thereby associated protection of players and staff. The game will be postponed until 16 November 2021.
