Car crashes into exhibition vehicle and rolls into bus

A driver came off the road and crashed into a parked car. The accident vehicle then rolled backwards into a public transport bus. The cause of the accident was a medical problem.

The accident occurred shortly before 7:45 p.m, on Thursday evening (17 March 2022), at the Langgasse/Sihlbruggstrasse roundabout in the municipality of Baar. A 55-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle in the roundabout, whereupon the car drove over the flower bed in the middle of the roundabout and crashed into a parked exhibition vehicle of the Volvo garage on the opposite side.

The vehicle then slowly rolled backwards into a bus of the Zugerland pubic transport (Verkehrsbetriebe). The bus driver and another motorist immediately rushed to the aid of the injured person, and looked after him until the arrival of the rescue forces

After receiving initial medical care from the ambulance, the 55-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition. No other people were injured, but the vehicle damage amounted to several thousand Swiss francs. The cause of the accident was a medical problem.

The traffic service of the Baar and Neuheim fire brigade subsequently guided traffic past the accident site.

In addition to the two local fire brigades and the Zug police, the Muri rescue service, an emergency doctor and a private towing company were deployed to the scene of the accident.
