A Guided Tour of Zug's Old Town

Saturday, 21 Sep 2019

The historic town centre of Zug is an idyllic place with its oriels, colourful housefronts & small alleys. But the story behind this town is much more eventful, than its peaceful appearance of today suggests.

The Zug tour guides would love to show you round their beautiful town and tell you all about the numerous old buildings and monuments in it .

The picturesque Old Town presents an idyllic picture with its narrow streets, colourful facades and gabled windows, but the history of this little lake-side town was more turbulent than you might imagine.

Take a guided tour through the Old Town and learn something of its history, its highlights and its catastrophes. Explore the distinctive Clock Tower, visit the Town Hall with its Gothic Room, marvel at the late-gothic St. Oswald's Church and much more. There is a lot to learn and discover on this tour: for example, why was life in the old town anything but attractive in medieval times. We look forward to welcoming you.

The tours take place in all weathers.
