26-year-old driver caught doing 252 kph on A4 motorway

A 26-year-old was caught doing 252 kph (156 mph) on the A4 motorway in the early hours of last Sunday morning. He could end up with a one-year jail sentence.

The driver, a Kosovan national, was caught driving at this excessive speed on a stretch of motorway between Rotkreuz and Küssnacht am Rigi, where the maximum speed permitted is 120 kph.

When he was stopped by police, the driver admitted his offence explaining he had borrowed the car from a friend. Not unexpectedly, his licence was confiscated on the spot. As mentioned, he could face up to a year in jail as well as a fine.
