Two seriously injured in violent frontal collision

A 27-year-old woman drives from Sihlbrugg in direction Neuheim. Shortly after 8pm on Thursday, the accident occurs. For reasons not yet known, the woman had come onto the oncoming lane, thereby crashing into the oncoming vehicle head-on, reports the police.
 
As a result of the heavy impact, she became entrapped in her vehicle and had to be recovered by the Zug fire brigade. After initial medical care by the rescue service Zug, she was flown with life-threatening injuries with a Rega rescue helicopter to a specialist hospital.
 
Blood and urine sample ordered
 
The public prosecution authorities of the canton of Zug have ordered a blood and urine sample to be taken from the woman. The correctly driving driver, a 60-year-old man, injured himself significantly in the collision. He was taken to hospital by the rescue service Zug.
 
For salvage and clearing works to take place, the Sihlbruggstrasse had to be closed in both directions. Amongst others, members of the Neuheim local fire brigade, the Zug fire brigade and the rescue service Zug were deployed.
 
Appeal for witnesses
 
Persons who have observed the accident or were traveling on the Sihlbruggstrasse at the time of the accident and can provide information on the driving style of those involved in the accident are requested to contact the operational control centre of the Zug police (041 728 41 41).
