Reassurance from ZVB

“And where will you be on the Day of Judgment?” was the question on a church poster by a bus stop, under which someone had written “Probably still waiting for the bl…dy corporation bus,” in frustration at its non-appearance; a scene noticed in an English provincial town years ago.

Fortunately, modern technology has moved on and we can be informed exactly of when the next bus is due.
This is very much the case now with the ZVB transport company, with 55 out of their 100 ticket machines able to provide this information at the touch of a screen.

So accurate are they, that they are actually updated every 30 seconds. As Dominik Herger, who led this project at ZVB, said, “The indication of when the bus the bus will be arriving available on touch screens like this is a first in Switzerland,” adding that passengers could be kept informed about other situations, such as possible delays and other problems in this way. “All done centrally and in a timely and uncomplicated way,” he concluded.
