Police catch two shoplifters

Shortly before 11am on Monday, the police were alerted to a case of two men shoplifting in Menzingen, the shop assistant able to make a note of the number of the car they fled in.

Within minutes, the police had caught up with the car and stopped it. While the front seat passenger ran off to nearby woodland, he was subsequently able to be apprehended near Sihlbruggstrasse in Baar.

Meanwhile the driver of the car had admitted to the shoplifting offence and confessed to others in January and February in Steinhausen and Menzingen.

Both men, both Italian nationals aged 35 and 43, now face prosecution.
