No more having to walk along Schochenmühlestrasse

The Cantonal Department of Planning has announced that a riverside walk, linking two riverside paths, has now been completed, meaning that walkers and joggers no longer have to go on a less appealing detour via Schochenmühlestrasse to get from one to the other.

Plans for such a path date back to 2012 but now, after work started in June this year, it is complete, the route open for all to enjoy. The path itself is a gravel one just 1.50 metres wide with a wooden fence of one side separating it from a pond, assuring wildlife there is not disturbed. For the moment, the public is kindly asked not to walk on areas where greenery is to be planted.

The director of planning, Urs Hürlimann, said he was very pleased to announce completion, and expressed his gratitude to members of his colleagues in his department and the owners of the adjoining land for their cooperation. The Baar-Dorf Corporation was also involved, it having designed and built the new wooden bridge over the River Lorze.
